Every two years, the Nevada Association of Superintendents and Administrators revises and adopts a legislative platform called INvest 2019. This serves as the guiding document upon which NASS’s legislative positions are formed.
NASS provides extensive lobbying services before the Nevada Legislature, Office of the Governor, State Board of Education, Department of Education and state agencies that impact public education.
Timely legislative and regulatory reports are available to members on at least a weekly basis during the regular legislative session and any special legislative session. A comprehensive final legislative report is available after the regular legislative session is complete.
Detailed legislative briefings are held during Association meetings throughout the year.
Legislative updates for individual districts are available upon request.
The NASS closely follows state policy developments within Nevada. We work closely with members to ensure the values of school administrators throughout the state are represented through effective and responsible state legislation. As advocates, we partner with a number of other education organizations as well as state officials to effect meaningful change, proactively addressing the concerns of our members and Nevada students.
